
"Love Letters of Hope": Michael Zaslow's ZazAngels helped usher in ALS Awareness Month in the Nation's Capitol on May 1, 2000 with a benefit held in conjunction with the National Capitol Area Chapter of the ALS Association, which featured a special presentation of A.R. Gurney's play "Love Letters" performed by Kim Zimmer and Keir Dullea at the Shakespeare Theatre.

Keir Dullea and Kim Zimmer To Star on May 1, 2000
On May 1, 2000, the National Capitol Area Chapter of the ALS Association,
in association with Michael Zaslow's ZazAngels, will present A.R. Gurney's hit play,
"Love Letters" at the The Shakespeare Theatre, 450 7th Street NW, in
Washington, D.C.. Acclaimed actor Keir Dullea, perhaps best known for his starring role as
Commander Bowman in Stanley Kubrick's classic film "2001: A Space Odyssey" and
his Golden Globe-winning performance in "David and Lisa", and multiple Emmy-
winning actress Kim Zimmer , beloved to millions for her portrayal of "Reva
Shayne" on the CBS daytime drama, "Guiding Light", will star . The
power-packed evening to raise funds and awareness for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) also
features a champagne reception and live auction and includes support from Senator John
Glenn and Annie Glenn, Sarah and Jim Brady and Senator Robert Torricelli. Among the
political luminaries scheduled to appear are Senator Bob Kerry, Congressman Jim Moran,
Congresswoman Connie Morella, The Honorable Donna F. Shalala, Secretary of the Department
of Health and Human Services , Congresswoman Lois Capps and Congressman Mark Foley.
District of Columbia Councilwoman Betty Ann Krahnke will be honored as a PALS (Person with
ALS) . Angela Shapiro, President of ABC Daytime Television, will be on hand along
with WGMS 103.5 Midday Host Diana Hollander. All funds raised will go to
support local ALS patient services and promising ALS research. Tickets are $150 for
performance and champagne reception and $250 for those wishing to attend the post-theater
light supper reception with celebrities and special guests. Sponsorship opportunities
