FRIENDS OF ZAZ:  Two dedicated ALS advocates shared the Golden Theatre stage on January 25 when ZazAngels President Brynn Thayer (right) presented the First Lady of New York City, Donna Hanover, with a special award in recognition of the invaluable support she has given to ZazAngels and her work to raise ALS awareness and funds for research.  An emotional Hanover recalled her first impressions of Michael Zaslow when they met while working together  on "Guiding Light" in 1996:  "I really liked this man!"

A NOTE OF THANKS ...

ZazAngels and the ALS Association of Greater New York would like to say  THANK YOU to everyone whose support and dedication helped to make "Love Letters: A Tribute To Michael Zaslow" a  very special and successful evening on Broadway.

"It was less than two months ago that we all had to say 'goodbye' to soap opera actor Michael Zaslow, who died after an incredibly brave battle with Lou Gehrig's disease.  Last night in New York City Alec Baldwin helped pay tribute to the man who brought his personal struggle to television and proved he truly was a shining star.

New York's 'Great White Way' was much brighter last night as Alec Baldwin joined stars Linda Dano, Robin Strasser, Jane Alexander and Kim Zimmer at the star-studded benefit to honor and remember the late Michael Zaslow.  Kim Zimmer:   'His spirit is still with us.'  Alec Baldwin: 'This is obviously something he was supposed to be at; this was supposed to be in his honor, not a memorial.'

The star, who despite his illness made a triumphant return to daytime last year  on 'One Life To Live', died December 6 after losing his battle with ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease.  The event called 'A Night At The Golden'  included a reading of Zaslow's favorite play, 'Love Letters', which was performed by Baldwin and Kim Zimmer.  Michael's wife Susan Hufford told us the star actually organized the benefit before he died with one thing in mind:  'It meant to raise awareness and money ... we are so close to a cure.'

Every penny counts.  That event helped raise almost $200,000 for ALS research and the continuing fight to find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease."
